The Little Inspiration Behind Sama's Foods
Sama’s Foods began with one little girl—and a mom who wanted better for her.
When I became a mom to Sama, the way I looked at food changed. As a dietitian with a master’s degree in Biochemical and Functional Nutrition and experience in child nutrition, I knew what I wanted to see on an ingredient list. But as a mom, I quickly learned something just as important: nutrition only matters if kids actually want to eat it.
I wanted to give Sama snacks made with thoughtfully chosen ingredients, without sacrificing the flavors and textures that make snack time exciting.
So I started making them myself.
What began in our kitchen for Sama grew into something I wanted to share with other families. Every Sama’s Foods product is created with the same standard I started with: Would I feel good serving this to my own daughter—and would she be excited to eat it?
That question is still at the heart of everything we make.
A Bigger Purpose
Sama was born with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), a rare genetic skin condition that causes the skin to be extremely fragile and prone to blistering and injury from everyday friction.
Her journey with EB has shaped our family in countless ways—and it has become an important part of the purpose behind Sama’s Foods.
That’s why 15% of our profits will be dedicated to supporting EB research and helping families caring for children with EB.
For us, Sama’s Foods is about more than snacks. It’s about creating something meaningful from our family’s story and giving back to a community that has become deeply important to us.
